From January 23 to 26, 2025, ITAMAE STUDIO showcased Wabisabi SushiDerby at the Indie House area of Taipei Game Show 2025 (2025台北電玩展) in Taipei.
While we had previously exhibited at overseas events with unattended booths, this was our first time having staff on-site. We brought the latest demo setup and continued our tradition of handing out stickers. This time, we also introduced new features, including Traditional Chinese localization for Taiwan, a brand-new course where sushi jumps while racing, and an unlock system for sushi characters.
At domestic events in Japan, we’ve received a lot of player feedback, but we were eager to see how the game would be understood and received overseas. As it turned out, just like in Japan, many players in Taiwan enjoyed the game and shared their praise. At the same time, we encountered areas where the game’s intent was less clear and received feedback we hadn’t seen in Japan—making this an invaluable learning experience.
Moving forward, we will be focusing on completing the game. Please stay tuned for the release!
