We received the Bit Kids Award at BitSummit Drift 2024.

Wabisabi SushiDerby was exhibited at BitSummit Drift 2024, Japan’s largest game event held in Kyoto, for three days starting from July 19, 2024. Many people played our game during the event and shared their enjoyment with us. We are also grateful and honored to have received the Bit Kids Award on the final day of the event. This award was newly established this year and is determined by votes from children attending the event. During the award ceremony, the son of the BitSummit organizer commented, “I chose it because it was fun, cute, and I just like sushi.”

This time, we had a booth in the IndieGame area and set up two demo stations. However, the turnout exceeded our expectations, and at times, we caused some inconvenience to the staff with the waiting lines. We will continue to review our exhibition methods for future events. During the demos, people of various ages and genders from overseas also played our game. We received many comments saying “cute,” but some players said, “I thought it was just a cute game, but it was more fun than I imagined.” Others came back to play multiple times, saying, “It was the most interesting game I played here.” Most gratifying were the increasing number of people who told us they were recommended to try our game by others who had played it. The overwhelming response has made our entire team very happy.

We will continue to develop Wabisabi: Sushi Derby with the goal of releasing it within this year. At the same time, we plan to exhibit at various events to gather feedback from everyone. Thank you for your continued support of Wabisabi SushiDerby.
